Mental Health and Wellbeing
Here are some resources to help you talk with your child about their mental health and wellbeing during this time. The lesson is from the PSHE association and focuses on feelings and emotions. It will help your child to identify their own feelings as well as developing an awareness of the feelings of others around them. It will help to evolve their understanding about how people can feel different emotions towards things and situations and explain who can help them with their feelings.
The lesson is a good beginner to discuss with your child how they are feeling about the current situation.

Following on from yesterday’s English session, you will have chosen to describe either a T-Rex, Stegosaurus or a Diplodocus using lots of adjectives. Now think of a name for the dinosaur you have described. In the video below I have used our class dinosaur Tilly the T-Rex as an example. Your task is to think of as many words as possible that rhyme with your adjectives or labels for your dinosaur’s body. For a challenge have a think about using alliteration. You can make your poems as silly as you want them to be. I have chosen clothes that Tilly might wear that follows alliteration. Watch the video below to see an example of my dinosaur poem!

In English today we have continued to plan facts for our non-fiction books about dinosaurs. The children have already picked their sections to research so they may remember them. Do not worry if your child cannot remember them it would be great to just pick out some of their favourite facts about dinosaurs using websites online or information books.
Suggested links to find facts:

Wednesday 18th March
After reading time this morning we completed a Maths sheet with worded addition and subtraction problems. Encourage your child to highlight or circle the important information such as the numbers and the language ‘altogether’ , ‘total’ and ‘left’.
In English today some of the children continued to research facts about dinosaurs or began to write a final draft of their non-fiction book. An example of this can be found below if you would like to create a book about dinosaurs with your child.
In Maths today we finished off the division sheet from yesterday. Please do not worry if your child struggled with the work from yesterday. This is the first time they have been introduced to division.
Thank you
