School – Eco -Council
January 2022
Our newly formed Eco-Team is already well underway with assessing, action-planning and evaluating the things we are doing in school to help our environment and beyond. Eco-Team have carried out an environmental survey which has highlighted the areas we need to focus on this year. The areas we are going to concentrate on this year are; Healthy Living, Marine and Waste.
Last Friday, the children enjoyed taking part in The Big Garden Birdwatch and managed to spot a variety of different birds within our school grounds. Eco-Team are now excited about developing our wildlife areas further to entice a greater variety of birds and other creatures.
Year 4 have been leading the way already with recycling and litter picking…

After watching Greta Thunberg’s moving address to the UN in September our school community decided that we couldn’t go on as normal anymore.
Our School Councillors were so impassioned that they contacted Mrs Ruddy and her Eco Team and started talking about how we could work together to make a difference!
Therefore, because of the climate crisis our School Council will be working very closely with Eco Team to ensure we do our part, as a school community, for the environment.
Keep checking back for updates on what we are doing.
