Music

Music plays a very important role in our school. We believe in giving children the opportunity to develop their musical awareness and skills by receiving a weekly music lesson as well as having many other opportunities to express their musical flair. Mr David Gilson is not only a multi talented musical genius who performed at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, but also our school music teacher. The children are taught a range of skills which progress across each year group. (See link to music skills progression below)

On top of the above, Musicworks offer keyboard and drumming lessons to our children every Wednesday and Thursday. This cumulates in a musicworks assembly at the end of each term where the children can showcase their talents!

Music plays a huge part in our school drama productions. We give the children the opportunity to showcase their skills in our productions, helping them gain confidence performing in front of an audience.
