Parents / Teachers Association

Our Parents / Teachers Association has been revitalised since the COVID19 lockdowns and has started to grow and thrive. Read on for a taste of the various events that we have been running since the country began to reopen this summer. We are raising funds for an exciting (and expensive) new addition to the playground.

Summer Fair

We raised over £6000 for the school in July! Our summer fair had everything from a live DJ (playing a range of summertime classics) to a delicious pizza van to a range of inflatable experiences (bucking bronco, assault course and kiddies farm themed bouncy castle). We had a range of local businesses setting stalls up selling everything from sweets and cakes to artisan soaps! A fully stocked bar was on hand to keep everybody refreshed and teachers were pelted with wet sponges periodically throughout the day (which they secretly enjoyed – it was a warm one!), but the highlight was, of course, the wonderful stalls the Year 6 children created. Their flair for business management and entrepreneurial

skills really shone! A wonderful day was had by all.

Christmas Fair

What’s the one thing that is better than Summer? Christmas of course! Come on down on Sunday 5th December to our Christmas Fair, where you will be able to buy a Christmas Tree and meet Father Christmas himself in our very own grotto! There will be many more exciting stalls, a raffle, the chance to pin the nose on Rudolph, face painting, hook a duck and more as Hutton goes festive! Bring the whole family down and enjoy a fantastic day.

DJ Murray Mint

How many primary schools can say they have had an international DJ play their school hall? What about a DJ who has been featured on Britain’s Got Talent? I don’t know the answer, but I do know that Hutton Rudby Primary School can make that claim! DJ Murray Mint brought his internationally renowned 70s and 80s night, complete with The Love Bug and a troop of increidbly talented dancers, to our school hall this Autumn and absolutely rocked all of our socks off! To quote the Four Seasons (who, admittedly, weren’t played on the night being from the 60s…) Oh what a night! This event raised hundreds of pounds for the school.

Dads & Teachers Football

An ongoing fundraising activity is the dads & teachers football match every Monday night. From humble beginnings on the school field to playing under the bright lights of Acklam Outwood Academy, this friendly game of football has grown from a low key 5 a side match to pulling in up to 16 players a week. If you are interested joining in, please contact Mr. Johnson (rjohnson@huttonrudby.n-yorks.sch.uk) who will put you in touch with the organiser! Please note that this is by no means limited to dads. Mums are more than welcome to come and play as well, we just don’t have any yet – hence the name. Over the course of a few months, we have raised hundreds of pounds from this weekly football match.

If you are interested in joining our PTA, please contact the school office for more information. You can also visit the Friends of Hutton Rudby Facebook page, which has a lot of information about upcoming school events, and we are hoping will become a great place for the PTA to discuss ideas etc. Th

e Facebook page is ran entirely by a very helpful parent member of the PTA
