Emily McAdam – Parent Governor

Emily has a son in Year One having moved to Hutton Rudby in 2019. Her youngest will start in September 2024.

Originally from Halifax, she moved to the North East to study at Newcastle University, met her now husband and never left! She works as a GP in one of the largest practices in Middlesbrough, striving to manage the health needs of a diverse population. She also works one day a week in James Cook University Hospital to enhance her knowledge and broaden her experience.

Being new to the education system, and from a parent’s perspective, she feels the overall health and wellbeing of our children is crucial to allow them to flourish socially and academically.

Emily enjoys yoga, running and is a recent convert to road biking. She loves escaping to the Lake District for muddy dog walks and outdoor family adventures.
