Y6 Football Tournament Update
The Year 6 football team put in a very good performance in the Northern Regional Finals on Wednesday, competing against teams from Merseyside to Northumberland. The boys won their first game 3-0 in a derby match against a team representing South Yorkshire, but sadly lost the next two matches 2-1 and 1-0 against teams representing Lancashire and Merseyside respectively. This meant that qualification from the group was no longer possible, but the lads put in a fantastic performance against a team from Newcastle, representing Northumberland when the pressure was off.
It was a case of what might have been for the boys, who were never outclassed and always in with a chance, even in defeat, but this day was not for Hutton Rudby, and the team learned a valuable lesson about coping with defeat. Hopefully they will demonstrate their bouncebackability next week in Harrogate, in a the National League Trust Cup which concludes at Wembley where we will be representing York City FC.
Enjoy the goals from our fantastic 3-0 victory over the champions of South Yorkshire
