World Mental Health Day 2019
On Thursday last week, the school took part in World Mental Health Day 2019. The children all said #HelloYellow and donated a pound to do so (which will be donated to YoungMinds.org) to support children and young people’s mental health. The children could dress like sunshine from head to toe, or go for a subtle splash of colour, all to show young people that they are not alone with their mental health.
As well as an assembly by Miss Clark, each class spent time on Thursday discussing ways to stay mentally healthy. Children discussed the importance of finding someone to talk to, whether it is a friend, a family member, teacher, babysitter or even childline.

Recently, staff from our school raised £15,000 for children and young people’s mental health charity the Russ Devereux Headlight Project. Children’s mental health is a subject that is close to our hearts at Hutton Rudby, and we appreciate any support that can be given to any charity helping in this area.
