Ukraine Fundraising Update
It is with immense pride that we would like to announce that our Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge was completed on Saturday 14th May. It is safe to say that everyone who completed the challenge left a piece of themselves somewhere on those mountains and had a well-earned rest on Sunday. The walk, along with the amazing Ukraine Day (organised by Miss Templeman) raised a staggering £6500! School would like to offer our most sincere thanks to everybody who sponsored us on Just Giving and who donated through on the Ukraine Day. The fun run around the field was a massive success, as were the various sponsored activities in which each class took part.
The cake / crafts sale after school was also a huge success, bringing in around £500 alone! Thank you to all who shopped with us.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer gave our walking efforts a shout out in his most recent Darlington & Stockton Times article, writing:
This week I was delighted to receive an email from Matthew Kelly, head teacher at Hutton Rudby Primary School, about something he and some school colleagues achieved at the weekend.
Many of you have heard about the Three Peaks Challenge, the 24-mile trek in the Yorkshire Dales which involves climbing Pen-y-ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside – 7000 ft of ascent in under 12 hours.
Matthew and nine school staff colleagues did it on Saturday and their magnificent efforts were preceded by a big Ukranian fundraising day at the school.
Together they have raised more than £6500 for Save the Children’s work in Ukraine. That’s an amazing achievement. Donations can still be made via the Team HRPS fundraising page at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/team-hrps1
