Not Your Average Footballer

Yesterday, our little school was graced by the presence of a Premier League star, Patrick Bamford!

Patrick was given a tour of the school and answered questions from literally hundreds of children.

Following the introductions to the classes, Patrick held a Q & A session in assembly where he stressed the importance of hard work, dedication and schoolwork. Patrick turned down the chance to go to Harvard to follow his dream of becoming a professional footballer. He told the children about this tough decision and how hard he worked to achieve both his university offer and his football career. Also an accomplished musician, Patrick told the children about the effort he puts into his music, he is an accomplished pianist and currently plays guitar to a high standard. The assembly finished with Patrick playing piano for the children, demonstrating how, just because he is a professional footballer, he isn’t limited to just football.

After this, Patrick was kind enough to sign autographs for the entire school!
