January Lockdown Announcement
Dear parents and carers,
Firstly, many thanks for the many words of support and encouragement that school has received today. It is greatly appreciated. Also, thank you for so many people returning the key worker questionnaire sent out this afternoon so quickly. I appreciate the incredible pressure and short notice placed upon people, but if you haven’t had chance to do complete the Key Worker questionnaire, could you please email the school admin account as soon as possible.
Having just listened to the Prime Ministers announcement, I confirm that school will be closed tomorrow with the exception of all Key Worker and Vulnerable children.
Therefore, if you are a Key Worker, or your child is classed as vulnerable, school will be open from 8:40 tomorrow morning. When dropping off your child, please bring them to the same entrance of school as has been the case throughout the Autumn term. I will be on the school gates if anyone is unsure of this. The school day will finish for all pupils at 3:15pm. Again, the children will exit the building via the same exits as they have been doing in the Autumn term. If you finish a shift pattern early or wish to pick your child up earlier than 3:15, then please email the school office to confirm this. Whilst in school, children will be taught in their existing class bubble. We do not intend to mix children from different Key Stages.
Before and After school provision will run as normal from 7:45 until 5:45. However we will endeavour to be as flexible as possible for people regarding this. We will be moving the after school provision to the School Hall. Please come to the front entrance of school to drop off and pick up your child, if you will be using this facility.
The staff will be uploading home-learning material over the course of tomorrow. We intend to start live lessons on Thursday. Mr Johnson will be sending a message to the parents in his class piloting our online lesson provision. We will then send all parents further information as to how the online lessons will be accessed and work before Thursday.
I’m sure that you all will appreciate that it is going to be an extremely hectic 48 hours. I apologise in advance if things change at short notice. We will endeavour to get the correct balance for online learning as quickly as possible so that the children can continue to learn and receive an education.
Thank you for all your support and patience.
Take care everyone.
Mr Matthew Kelly
