HRPS Year 6 Dances On World Stage
Another fantastically talented child has represented on the world stage last week!
Franchesca, from Year 6, spent over a week sleeping on a school classroom floor in Dornbirn City, Austria for the chance to represent Great Britain and Middlesbrough Gymnastics Club at the 16th World Gymnaestrada, an event that takes place once every four years!
She performed her routine twice a day over the course of 8 days in different locations, to huge crowds! The routine, which can be seen below, is called The Carnival and is classified as a display.
The team worked incredibly hard and rehearsed their performance for months in the build up to this incredible event.
The World Gymnaestrada featured over 18,000 athletes, with 65 countries were involved. It is testament to Franchesca and her team’s hard work and dedication that they were selected to take part in such a prestigious and massive event. Everyone at school is incredibly impressed, and incredibly proud!
We want to celebrate as many of our amazing children as possible. If , like Franchesca, your child has done something truly extra-ordinary, please let us know at admin@huttonrudby.n-yorks.sch.uk
