Further Fundraising
As I am sure you are aware, members of staff are raising money for the Russ Devereux Headlight Project, in conjunction with the Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation, by attempting the National Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours in May. We will be starting at Ben Nevis on 3rd May and finding ourselves somewhere in Wales 24 hours later on the 4th May.
Thank you for your continued and amazing support, both raising money for our running costs, and for the Headlight Project itself. Over £200 was raised selling your cakes and throwing sponges at certain teachers, and a small fortune was raised at the Walk From The Webbs’; thanks again to Mr & Mrs Webb for opening their home to over 150 people, and guiding us all the way up to Lordstones Café and back! Our Just Giving page can be found at: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/teamhuttonrudby. We are currently 60% towards our total, and would love it if more donations were made.
If you would like to support us in other ways, there are posters available in the office which can be put up in places of work, leisure etc. If more people know about our challenge, more people will help us reach our target with donations.
Our final fundraising push is starting now. We are in the process of creating a prize hamper to raffle off. So far, prizes include a delicious Easter Egg and Easter chocolate for the kids, 3l of Bacardi (worth over £100) for the grown-ups, and more. A strip of raffle tickets can be bought from the office, or your child’s class teacher, for £5. The draw will be made on Wednesday 1st May (the first Wednesday after Easter).
To inspire the walkers to make their way all the way up the mountains, we are inviting children to come in wearing their walking / outdoorsy gear on Wednesday 1st May, a voluntary contribution of £1 would be lovely on this day.
Thank you again for all of the support with our challenge. It is spurring us on in our training and getting some tired legs up some big hills!
